The City of Kansas City, Missouri Healthcare Trust was in need of an integrated employee communications program to spread the word among employees and retirees of the City of Kansas City Missouri about its new employee health clinic. Educating those eligible to use the clinic was paramount to the success of a program that would save the city a great deal of expense. The challenge was increased by the diverse nature of the audience the client needed to reach. Many of the employees and retirees do not use online resources frequently, if at all, and others work exclusively in the digital world.
In order to overcome the challenges of a very diverse audience we developed a 5 part integrated employee communications program that incorporated direct mail print, on-site print and online components. We developed a website www.kcemployeeclinic.com, a monthly email newsletter, a direct mail campaign, on-site posters and a portable spiral bound reference guide. Each of these pieces works independently and as part of the entire integrated employee communications program. Due to this integrated approach usage of the employee clinic is steadily increasing saving both the city and those who use it a great deal of money.
